Scheduled to open in fall 2025, this new neighborhood park will border the upcoming Winchester Ranch Urban Village and provide pedestrian and bicycle access from WONA streets into the new development. The park will include a dog park, basketball court, bocce court, and more. The photo shown highlights some of the newly completed park structures. WONA is proud to be adopting this park—the second new park in District 1 in 50 years—and will help care for it as a true community gem. This is a neighborhood park, not a destination park, so there will be no dedicated parking. Residents are encouraged to walk or bike to enjoy the space and its surroundings.
The project will modify the existing I-280/Winchester Boulevard interchange by constructing a new tunnel off-ramp from northbound I-280 towards Winchester Boulevard, construct a new direct connector ramp from northbound SR-17 to northbound I-280, and replace the existing Monroe Pedestrian Overcrossing. The Hanover apartments contain 390 one and two bedroom apartments. The new condos and townhomes have one, two and three bedroom models. This is located at the site of the old Winchester Ranch mobile home park. The Hanover apartments are 80% rented as of October 2024.
The developer for the condos and townhomes is Pulte Homes. Many of the condos and town homes have already sold and are now occupied. When the project is completed the park will be given over to the city and opened. This is Pulte's second fastest selling product in the country! They will sell out soon.
The Century 21 Dome is a State Historical and City landmark. The developer and the community are still looking for a viable reuse of the property which needs to keep its current structure.
Constance Drive and the pedestrian bridge over Highway 280 serve as a gateway to our neighborhood. Caltrans has recently completed a landscape cleanup on the entire street. A big thank you to the neighbors who have volunteered their time to help! Take a look at the creative work our children contributed to transform what was once an eyesore. Most recently, a local artist painted a vibrant new mural on the upper portion of the wall, and we hope to continue this effort up the bridge. Your donations to WONA will help support the next phase of this beautification project.
The first phase of Santana West is complete. The project will provide a new hub with a capacity for over a thousand employees in a burgeoning mixed-use district. Federal Realty is responsible for the development of Santana West, as well as the busy mixed-use Santana Row plan across the street. Several floors have are now in use! By the end of 2025, Santana West will be 80% occupied.

Over the last year we have been meeting with stakeholders from Santana Row, Westfield Valley Fair, the Winchester Orchard neighborhood, and San José’s Department of Transportation (DOT) to discuss the significant increases in traffic during the holiday shopping season. We have been working together to find strategies and solutions for the challenges, and to ensure collaboration between all the parties involved. As a result of the work we have completed, San José’s DOT is assessing and solidifying many of the ideas and suggestions that we have generated. This is an ongoing dialogue that we continue to have with the D1 council office and the department of transportation. The latest meeting was held on 10/31/24.
